Microblading Treatment Types
Microblading of Eyebrows
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup that is injected into the skin to create a real eyebrow effect. It offers an alternative for those who are unhappy with their eyebrows. This can include the shape, or to fill out sparse areas from over tweezing etc. Using subtle strokes, your technician can shape the natural beauty of your eyebrow line to help achieve a more natural look.
Ombre Brows
Ombre brow tattooing has been gaining popularity for a while now. The ombre technique allows your technician to deliver a gradient air-brushed effect, with lighter tones that gradually transition to darker tones at the tail of the eyebrow. The result is a beautifully defined eyebrow that maintains its natural look.
Combination of Microblading and Ombre Shading
When deemed appropriate, your technician may use a combination of Microblading and Ombre Brows. Using this method, the inner brow and outer line are microbladed, while the hair strokes and tails are shaded. This combination technique is perfect for people who have sparse eyebrow hair.
How does Microblading, Combination and Shading Work?
The specific techniques that our local specialist uses includes filling in the eyebrows with a very fine blade that deposits pigment into the skin. These strokes are made along your natural eyebrow line and it is done to achieve subtle or dramatic effect on your brows.
The pigments used in our eyebrow tattoos vary so they can be used to create a colour that suits anybody. These pigments are designed to fade over time, allowing you to change the colour or shape of your eyebrows as you get them touched up over the years.
The process takes up to 3 hours and can be performed in our clinic with numbing cream applied beforehand for comfort during treatment.
Aftercare for Microblading Treatments
While your eyebrows look amazing straight away, the overall healing process takes 7-14 days. During this period, you will notice your eyebrows actually darken as the skin heals. However, between 2-4 weeks you will then notice the colour subsides to your desired colour. This is completely normal.
There are some aftercare tips you can follow to help speed up the healing process, and to get the best results from your treatment:
- Do not apply makeup or skin care to the tattooed area.
- Avoid excessive heat such as hot showers, sauna, gym etc.
- Keep your pillowcase clean, and try to avoid sleeping on your face (including on your side)
- Do not pick or pull at any scabs. Allow these to form and drop off naturally.
- Only ever touch the tattooed area with clean hands.
Your technician will also book you in for a follow up session to check on your progress and apply a touch up where needed.

Eyebrow Microblading, shading and combination is a form of semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo. Eyebrow Tattoos are considered relatively painless because they only use small needles to implant pigment into the skin.
In saying that, everyone’s pain threshold is different. We use a topical numbing cream to assist with any discomfort
Is Microblading Safe?
How Long Does Microblading Take to Heal?
The area tattooed with a microblading treatment will have slight redness, and the colour can appear darker than before. This is completely normal, and this will fade by up to 40% once any swelling subsides. You may also experience some scabbing while the area heals.
It will take approximately 1-2 weeks for the eyebrows to heal. The colour of your tattooed eyebrow will fully set in within a month.
Is Microblading Suitable for Everyone?
Eyebrow tattooing provides you with semi-permanent makeup that is suitable for all skin types, age and genders. However, it is recommended that you do NOT have a microblading treatment if you have any of the following:
- Pregnant (or breastfeeding)
- Keloids
- Diabetes
- Skin disease or irritation
- Had a recent cosmetics therapy session, such as injectables or chemical peels
